More Ways to Save

Just wanted to pop on very quickly to share another idea for saving and even making money! I promise to get back to my home projects after this one. This gets us one post closer to the 100th post giveaway! Speaking of giveaways, check out this generous giveaway. Be sure to tell Kara I sent you her way!

Now on to saving money. I deposited $82.07 into my account yesterday. This included three rebate checks ($4.99, $3.59, $5.99) and a check for $67.50 from the consignment shop. Ironically, using coupons at Gymboree, I was able to pick up most of BBC’s spring dress clothes for right at that same amount. (I got 4 polo-style shirts, khaki shorts, button down and sweater vest for Easter, 2 t-shirts, and a pair of pants!) These are great clothes and resell well in the consignment shop! So I get to dress BBC well for virtually little out of pocket each season!

If you have children and/or like to update your wardrobe on a regular basis, I highly recommend looking into your local consignment store. It is a great way to save money on quality clothes AND make some back as well! Be sure to shop around and look for fair payouts and quality clothing (brand names, clean, no tears, etc.). Be a great consignor by understanding all the rules for the clothing that you bring in.

I’m lucky because my best friend owns an awesome store in Van Buren, AR. If you live in that area I recommend going to her store, Rags. She is very particular about what she takes in and her prices are more than reasonable. She has a generous pay-out plan as well! She carries clothing for children, men, women, & plus sizes, PLUS scrubs, shoes, and household items! Please tell her I sent you her way!

You know, I’ve never thought about doing that before! I would have no idea where to even begin looking for one. I don’t have a kiddo right now, so I’ll bet it won’t be too much savings just yet.

PS I hate to admit it, but your blog title sounds yummy! hee hee. Darn being on a diet!

I am a HUGE fan of the resale shop. And I usually go to Rags! The clothing sometimes is still brand new with the tag still on it and they never have things that look dirty or worn out.
