For the past year or so I’ve been trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
In 2008 I launched the Southern Fried Dreams blog and posted under the alter ego Southern Fried Gal. I started Southern Fried Dreams as a way to connect with others, to have a creative outlet and to help others (fall in love with their homes, practice hospitality and dream a little bigger).
Southern Fried Gal was a perfect fit for where I was in my journey at that time. I was fortunate to stay home with my son. I was an independent consultant for Southern Living at HOME. However, as the years have passed and my journey has changed, I have struggled to continue to post as Southern Fried Gal. I have tried to roll with it and make it work. It hasn’t been working, though.
This past summer I attended the Arkansas Women Bloggers conference. Two of the sessions were a godsend. They equipped me to make the tough decision to say goodbye to Southern Fried Gal. This will be my last official post under this moniker. I’m a little sad to say goodbye but the excitement of a fresh start far outweighs the sadness.
Please enjoy the archives of Southern Fried Gal. Here are a few of the most visited posts:

I hope you will join me on my new adventure, Uncommonly Connected – a little knock about place to bring together people and ideas.
Thanks!
