This week I want to share with you my experience entering into 2009. Whenever I got harried over the past year the phrase Caught Up would pop into my mind and I would be reminded of a devotion I shared on our church’s Connections Women’s Ministry Blog. These words ring ever so true going into 2010 and it’s time again to take a moment to get caught up…
Caught Up
It’s the dawn of the New Year. I am usually fully prepared and excited for a New Year, but after the crazy December my family experienced I’m feeling like I am behind on everything. Isn’t that one of the worst feelings? I’ve spent the first week of the New Year just trying to get caught up on everything. I’ve found myself out of balance, stressed, grouchy… It seems the more I try to get caught up with earthly tasks the less time I spend in daily quite time with the One who matters the most. I was on the edge one day this week and then it hit me – I DO need to get caught up – just in a different context. I need to get caught up in the Lord. I need to sit in His presence and allow the world to melt away and simply get caught up in His glory and splendor. Be still and know that He is Lord. Sit in awe of all that He has done for me. Visualize the day that I will be caught up in the clouds with Jesus himself! Oh what a glorious thought! His peace rushes over me. His joy floods my soul.
Ahhh just what my poor soul needed…. Yes, I still have the same responsibilities and looming deadlines but everything seems a lot more reasonable now. I feel refreshed, renewed, ready…caught up.
Have you gotten caught up in the Lord lately? I encourage you to take an extra special moment today to do so. I pray you find the same refreshment and renewal in Christ!

Boy, am I glad I’m not the only who experiences that feeling of not being caught up and the frustrations that come along with it.
