Embarrassing Moment…

(Fall Decor 2005)

I must get fall decor complete this week. I had an embarrassing moment today. OK – I need a little group therapy – is that allowed? I’m a perfectionist – and probably not in the best way. The Nester’s little phrase has really helped me out – It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. So yesterday I started working on my front door. I decided to give the grapevine garland another try this year. I had fun with it last year – look to the right in the picture below…
So I hung that yesterday and messed with it for about 30 minutes trying to get it just so. Then I decided from all the inspiration online that I would depart from the wreath I’ve used the past several years (found in both pictures above). I rummaged through my “Monica Closet” and found a cute bucket. So I slapped that up on the door along with some fake flowers and sticks and such (some with tags still on them and the stems just sticking out randomly all over) just to see if I would get inspired. My husband came home in the middle of doing that so I left it.

Well, I had a fairly new friend stop by this morning. We were in the back yard and didn’t hear her but she left a message about my front door decor. I am so embarrased – what if she thought that was what I really wanted to leave up? I ripped it down immediately. I should have take a picture so you could get a good laugh, too.
