Confession

I have a confession to make. I have been sick for over a week now. I mean dead-dog-stay-in-the-bed-all-day with two rounds of antibiotics sick. Ugh!

I usually get to slow down at Christmas with my business and I had grand plans for all these projects and cute decorations for my home this month. Thanks to the fabulous deals I have found with my new coupon friends, I have had the supplies for my Christmas candy for over a month now and I knew this would be the year that I wouldn’t be up all night making it at the last minute! I have been dreaming about having the cutest posts and participating in all the fun linky parties online. But that has not been my reality.

I started getting sick the day before the Tis the Season party at church. In my presentation I talked about Christmas not being about perfect decorations or perfect parties or perfect gifts. It is really about a perfect Savior and the perfect sacrifice He made for all of us. It was a good reminder for me who always wants everything to be perfect.

I love God’s sense of humor because usually when I profess something so boldly He really makes sure I’ve taken it to heart as well. So although I’m bummed that my home isn’t perfectly decorated, my Christmas shopping isn’t completed, and I’ve had to drag out my centerpiece posts to make it feel like I’m having bloggy fun I just have to chuckle. God has given me the chance to really slow down and meditate on those words I shared so boldly a little over a week ago.

I pray that during all the hustle and bustle this holiday season that you really take time to sit in the Father’s presence and thank Him for the most perfect gift ever, Jesus!

Oh no!! I hope you are on the mend. That is not fun! Great perspective though.
