It all begins with an iron candlestand as the base. I found this good faux vine at a local floral shop last year. It reminds me of my clematis vines from last year or a grapevine except it is easy to work with.
I wrapped and twisted that down the iron in an interesting way. I wanted to add candles but I thought it might be a bit of a fire hazard so I opted to add faux mossy rocks (local garden center) and eggs (TJ Maxx, maybe?). My heart started skipping beats at this point…
Next I tucked in two pots of carrots. I got these on clearance for $2.50 each last year at a local boutique. I knew they would come in handy this year. I love how they were tied with raffia and in keeping with the natural theme.
I bought a leaping bunny candle holder last year but could never get it to work. I think I paid $5.99 for it at Tuesday Morning. The candles were always off in proportion so I wasn’t able to work it into my decor last year. This year I decided I was going to remove the candle holder – imagine my glee when I found I could easily unscrew it! Hmmm…wonder how I can re-purpose this?
I hollowed out the bottom of one of the eggs. Tucked in some of that pretty rust and blue ribbon left over from my door decor and stuck on top of the bunny. Then I tied the sweetest little bow and voila – isn’t it a perfect addition to the center of my arrangement?
Be still my heart! I LOVE it when a plan comes together so beautifully!
Now the question is how long can I get away with having this centerpiece? Through May? June? What do you think?
