This time of year my urns are filled with Kimberly Queen ferns. I think they offer a friendly little greeting as you walk up and they are super easy to care for. I always try to have a rug as well. This one is worse for wear but remember it doesn’t have to be picture perfect!
If you have been around this blog very long you know I LOVE my door decor and I prefer the unconventional! So it probably doesn’t surprise you that I took an old chalkboard (that I picked up for a bargain, of course), spray painted it with red paint, free-handed polka-dots and a monogram, and hung it with a ribbon on the door!
This is a super easy project and as you can see it really pops on my door! I chose the red and black polka dots because a) I had those paints on hand and b) it reminds me of a ladybug for summer!
I like that I can change the message on a whim and customize to expected guests. The ultra cool thing is that I left the chalk there so friends can leave a message when they stop by as well! I am fortunate to have a covered doorway. This may not work as well without that feature.

OK – enough about me – let’s party!!!
A few easy rules…
- I appreciate creativity as much as the next gal but please keep your post relevant to this week’s topic.
- Please link up the URL to your specific post – not your whole blog.
- Please link back to this post so others can join the fun. You can use my pathetic attempt at a button (I will be working on this) if you like or just a link will do!
- Please mix and mingle – and leave lots of comment love for other participants!
This party will be open through Wednesday at midnight CDT. Party On!!!

I love this idea!!! I did a post last week for another house tour, and it seemed to fit for this one too, so I’m just linking to my last week’s post. I look forward to seeing what everybody else posts! Thanks for hosting the hospitality party

I LOVE your chalkboard and the urns! Thanks so much for hosting.
I posted about my sad lack of curb appeal, but shared what I do have. Hoping I might get a few suggestions for improvement! Have a great day!

What a great idea! I just found this post today, but I’m going to try to link up in the future. We love adding special touches to make people feel welcome in our home. For us, that’s the whole point of owning our own house.

Hi,
I wanted to participate, but cannot get my picture to appear when I go to link up. I have been able to use this type of Linky before, but I have to crop the picture first then it allows me to post it. There was no option to “select/crop” under my pictures when I pulled them up from the my blog.
Sorry, but I love the concept here!
