It’s time to party!!! I can’t wait to see what y’all have going on in your gardens (flower, container, vegetable, whatever). I’m STILL working on getting all my beds and containers planted. I need to be inspired to carry on especially in this heat.
One advantage to waiting late in the season to plant is the cost-saving factor. I planted this container from scratch for under $10! The Mandevilla is out of control and needs to be trained or trimmed.
This is becoming one of my favorite nooks. It has all my favorites, moss, ferns, and hostas. I let the oak leaves mulch the area naturally. It is tucked behind a tree – a sweet little surprise!
Another cost saving tip is to buy plant that can be multiplied. Last year I bought one hosta and one fern for $4 each and split them into multiple plants to get more bang for my buck!.
Speaking of surprises, my Jane Magnolia is blooming AGAIN! She was beautiful in the spring before the leaves and I’m even more in love with the blooms against the green. Be still my heart!
In addition to the tree removal project last weekend, I worked to get this bed cleaned up. I have been hauling interesting rocks from the hillside at my grandparents in Northwest Arkansas (FREE!). Oh and those cool ferns? Got a start from my mom – for FREE!
This is the biggest project I have going on outside right now. I can’t wait to share the finished area – hopefully sooner rather than later!
And how about one final tip…I shop the clearance section at the nurseries and Lowe’s. Most of the stuff that is in this area just needs a little TLC.
I got a pack of impatiens for FREE last week because brown leaves had fallen into the pot from the plant above it – the impatiens were perfectly healthy! There are 10 plants here most of which are perennials and I got them all for under $15 total!!!
Now on to the fun!!! This is our trial run before our Practice Hospitality Linky Series begins next Monday. I hope we have a good turn out. Please help me spread the word.
If we get at least 10 participants for our Garden Party, I’ll host a giveaway – doesn’t that sound fun???!! Please leave a comment to let me know how you are help spread the word!
As always a few easy rules…
1. Please link up the URL to your specific post – not your whole blog.
2. Please link back to this post so others can join the fun.
3. Please mix and mingle – and leave lots of comment love!
I will keep this up through Friday at Midnight CDT. To extend the fun, I’m linking up with the following…
