I’ve been braggin’ about all these posts I’ve been fixin’ to do. I decided I needed to rip it off like a band-aid and get all caught up. Some pictures are better than others.
So here goes the den. I, as usual, have a confession. I’m eclectic – but it isn’t even that simple. My design style is a dichotomy. I’m drawn to things that are casual AND formal – huh? Remember the living room way back when? It plays to the formal side – very symmetrical, monochromatic, etc.
The den is where the casual side gets to come out and play. In here everything is on the angle and all mixed up. I constantly change and rearrange this room. Anyway – here’s a peek. Sofa table with one of my arrangements. I had moved the cornucopia to another area in the room but BBC was pretty adamant that he wanted it back there. I can’t say I disagree. I like it here, too!
I really wanted to get some good shots of my built-ins on either side of the fireplace. I just couldn’t get the whole to turn out. There were funky glares and such. I decided to pick a couple of my favorite shelves. I love this picture of us. It was at BBC’s first birthday party…
This is a close second. I guess I have a thing for short, squatty pumpkins because I have purchased several of them. I also love pottery. Check out the eclectic mix of books – and one is upside down – nice!Love this frame. Got it at TJ Maxx for $10. My friend went to a higher-end store in Ft Smith and found some for $25. I’m proud of my bargain. I especially like the way the round pumpkins in the picture echo the orange dots on the frame.
This was the last Halloween costumes I got to pick out. I knew it would probably be the case so I splurged on this precious elephant costume. Oh the memories… Like my makeshift side table? It’s an iron plant stand with an iron path paver on top. I needed a little something by this chair.
Well, that wraps up the den. I’m going to post a collection of all the other rooms next. See you soon!
