Wanted: Your Opinion – Makeup

Today’s post is totally random. I have finally come to the realization that my skin is no longer 20 something. I’m 30 something and have to deal with it. I’ve been enjoying my 20 something makeup thinking I looked all cute until I had a closeup taken of me the other day. I have clearly been deceiving myself. I’m leaning toward giving BareMinerals a try.

Have you used this makeup and if so how do you like it? Would you recommend another brand of makeup and why?

I value your input – gotta put my best (30 something) face forward!

I haven’t ever used Bare Minerals but I have tried Sheer Cover and LOVE it! I’ve been using it a little over a year now and won’t use anything else. When I wear it, it feels (and looks) like I don’t have make up on…but in a good way. It covers up blemishes and sun spots VERY well.
I ran out a month or so ago and bought something else at the store until I got my sheer cover in the mail. I couldn’t wait for my package to arrive. That’s when I realized just how good it is and that I will not use anything else.
There’s my two cents for ya : )

I’m 42 and use Bare minerals and Elf, I love them both. I love Elf because it is so cheap! Go to elf.com and check them out. Bare minerals is kinda high for me but I usually get mine on ebay, I don’t use enough to get into a deal where they automatically send it to you when they think you need more.
    Good luck! :)Lisa

I have not used Bare Minerals before but my best friend owns Glo in Fayetteville and that is their best seller. I use Laura Mercier and love it!

I LOVE Bare Minerals. It’s the only foundation I can wear. Here’s the scoop. My wedding day a couple years ago was extremely hot and humid. I used Bare Minerals, and topped it with mineral veil. Not a bit of shine all day long. I realized exactly how well it worked when I had to wash cake off my face and I seen that it was the makeup and not just my natural wedding day glow giving me a perfect complexion throughout the day. The stuff is AMAZING!

i’ve been using bare minerals for a couple of years now and i love it. they have some great products that help ‘cover’ problem area. i love the well-rested for eyes. it has really helped cover up those under eye circles i didn’t have a few years ago. also, i’m a huge fan of philosophy. if you haven’t tried them, do! they have different products for different stages of life. and a great eye and lip wrinkle cream that is just great for us young ’30′s’ gals…

I have not used Bare Minerals but I have been using a similar product by Mary Kay and LOVE it! It is like foundation and powder in one but you don’t feel that yucky feel of some makeups. And my skin is fantastic!

I tried to Bare Escentuals from QVC. I did not like it.
I usually like my makeup with alot of coverage. This just feels too natural to me.
    Have you used it yet?

I use a powder foundation by philosophy – The Supernatural. It’s similar to bare minerals in that it is a powder, but it comes in a jar with a built-in applicator. I like it better than bare minerals – as I found my clumsy self getting bare minerals powder everywhere! I also rely on the ‘favorites’ that Sephora highlights — mascara by Dior (Diorshow), NARS blush, Makeup Forever eye liner… I also use the full line of philosophy cleanser, creams, serums, etc… love love love the result!

Ok. I’ve already posted about this, but feel the need to do so again. First off, I’m a money saving blogger, so I don’t buy many expensive makeup things. If you can’t get a coupon in the Sunday paper for it, forget it. But I won’t use anything but the Bare Minerals foundation and the Mineral Veil on my face. For blush, yeah, Bare Escentuals is nice, but not necessary.

The only other high end product that I’ve found that I can’t substitute a drugstore brand for is the Clinique toner. I tried a couple others, but they’re either too harsh or not strong enough. At least with that I make sure I only buy when it’s bonus time!

Hey… thanks for visiting my blog today. I do love Bare Minerals….but I have found that my 37 year old face….shows more lines with mineral powders than with a liquid foundation. I’ve heard that is pretty across the board. So if you have deep lines… it tends to make them look worse.

Also… have you tried Arbonne for skin care? For me, the cleansing and masking makes a big difference in how my skin looks.

    Many blessings, Jennifer
