There is sadness at the Southern Fried mansion…the birds are not doing well. We have lost three so far. Two are still holding on. Two eggs are still unhatched. It’s nature, I know, but still sad to watch. I now remember why I usually shoo them away in the spring…
On a happier note, K and I went to the opening of the new Piano Bar in Fort Smith on Friday. I loved the eclectic mix of folks there – young, old, couples, friends, cowboys, city-folk – a fun time for all. We sang at the top of our lungs! The fun really kicked in when they opened the garage doors to the outside. I loved to watch the reaction of folks walking past. We have another girl’s night out planned this Thursday – any other SATC fans out there???
My granny recently had to move in with my mom. So on Saturday I picked her up and we went to her home. I was gathering mossy rocks for my new flower bed in the back yard. I realized this weekend how frail (body and mind) she is getting.
I took a little extra time to visit with her. There was a sweet beauty in the moment. This photo is a good reminder for me – beautiful old-fashioned gladiolas juxtaposed against a dilapidated fence (and of course plenty of moss). When I snapped the photo I didn’t even notice that container of who knows what…things such as this didn’t matter.
I cannot express to you how wonderfully blissful it is to wake up today knowing that LOST is a wrap! I had a love/hate relationship with that show. DH wanted me to watch with him after he got hooked early in the first season. It has been our weekly TV date since.
The show was definitely interesting. I loved all the characters – especially Sawyer and Hurley. But the show also drove me nuts. I knew after every episode that I would be left wondering and wanting more. It was pure torture each week.
I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied with the ending so I didn’t care how it ended. I was just ready for it to end! What about you? Did you watch? If so what did you think about the finale?
And to wrap up my Monday Hodge Podge, I can’t believe BBC will be a kindergarten graduate in just two weeks.
How was your weekend? What are your plans for the summer?

I have a SATC Girls’ Night planned for Thursday too.
I loved all but the last 15 minutes of the LOST finale. I was really hoping for something better than what they showed us. I don’t want to spoil it for any of your readers, so I will just say I liked how the last shot echoed an early one from the show….

I love old fashioned Glads like your grandmother’s. I have some hot pink ones in bloom now. I hope that you can get a start from her so that you can always have them in your yard.
