Welcoming Front Doors

School is officially out for summer! To celebrate, BBC and I slept in today. Then we went to the donut shop in our PJ’s. And finally we stalked some of our favorite doors on the way back.

We did it all in the name of work…i.e., we snapped a few pictures. This fits in perfectly with our Practice Hospitality Party this week! We already have several beautiful posts linked up and there is still time for you to link up and join the fun!

The intro picture is Decorating Tennis Girl’s Cape Cod home – one of my favorites from the party so far! Please go stalk her blog (and leave comment love) when you are finished reading this post.

Stalking begins at home…I realized after seeing all your curb appeal pictures yesterday that I usually just focus on the door and don’t provide perspective. So here’s a peek at what you will see as you drive past our home.

Next up, one of my favorite homes in town. One of these days I’m going to get the nerve to go introduce myself to these people. Everything about their home – front, sides, and back beckons me to stop over for a visit.

A closer look. Beautiful!

(all except the security sign…)

Next stop: The home of some of our dearest friends. When I first started blogging I dubbed Amy Hospitality Queen because she is one of the most hospitable gals I know. It doesn’t hurt that she is proudly displaying our Flower Market Door bucket!

How about a little sunshine for the tour? The gal who owns this door never disappoints. There is always something fun and a little out of the ordinary here. I just LOVE the patina on that door, too!

This home draws me in because it has GREAT curb appeal with the neatly manicured beds at the street and inviting walkway up to the porch where you will find FERNS – are you surprised?

And finally, I thought this funky pop of color was totally unexpected for this very traditional doorway. Fun, fun!

I have a few other pictures to share on Thursday where I’ll offer ideas to those of you who asked. If you want some ideas for your doorway, link to the party OR send me pictures and maybe I will feature you on Thursday as well!

Speaking of hospitality, Amanda over at Serenity Now is graciously inviting us to her place for another Dishing It party later tonight. This month we are dishing on DADS! I hope you will be able to join the fun there as well!

Party on!!!
