We had a team meeting at our Senior Director’s home last week. She and her husband are in retirement and their home is surrounded by lush gardens. She always has fresh cuttings in our products when we meet there. They are always simple but beautiful.
Here are a few ideas from the last meeting to hopefully inspire you to think a little differently about adding simple touches to your home by shopping your yard.
In the pitcher are a few hydrangea cuttings. To add height and fullness, she added greenery clippings. The vases are mostly filled with greenery and one simple bloom.
Here she fills an urn with more greenery cuttings. I wish I knew the name of this specific greenery. You could also accomplish the same look with nandina bush clippings.
Here she has featured dried cuttings from the yard, specifically, a dried hydrangea bloom and a bundle of dried grass. Simple. Beautiful.
I hope this has inspired you to look at the bushes, grasses, and blooms in your own yard a little differently today! You might also like this post where I shopped my neighbor’s yard (shhhh).
Do you use fresh cuttings from your yard? What is your favorite and how do you display it?

These are great ideas. I love bringing the outside in. I also love that it’s free to do that.

I love using fresh cuttings. My only problem is that right now it is so hot and dry that all of my plants look wilted. My favorite ones to use are hydrangea when in bloom. Carla

Absolutely! I’ve got hydrangeas all over my house. As far as SLAH products, I love having a big bowl of them sitting on top of my jamestown tray on my buffet. I also like to fill a cloche hanging holder (got it ages ago, and can’t remember the name) w/ blooms!

Those are beautiful! I don’t use cuttings from my yard b/c there aren’t many and I like to leave ‘em up for curb appeal for now.
