Diary of an Ugly Christmas Tree

November 28 (or somewhere thereabout): Today I was chosen to go to the Christmas tree lot. It kind of hurt but I can’t wait to meet my new family.

November 29: Yippee! I’m here. I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see who picks me!

November 30: Bummer – a lot of other trees have left the lot but I still remain. I hope someone chooses me soon. I’m getting a little thirsty

December 2-5 : Pick me, pick me, pick me!!!

December 6: I’ve been chosen! Thank you, thank you little boy! You think I’m special because I’m big and tall. I’ll be the best tree you’ve ever had!

December 7: Thank you for that overnight drink of water. I’m ready for anything now!

December 8: Ohhh – they must think I’m REALLY special! I’m getting new LCD lights. Oh happy day!

These glittery green balls are so spiffy next to my trunk.

This is the special little boy who picked me. He still thinks I’m grand. I’ve heard a few grumblings from the big people but what do they know? He loves to hang special ornaments up high on my branches!

I feel so special getting to hold his favorite Captain Hook ornament. I’m going to hold this little guy proudly. I’m holding lots of other special ornaments, too. I had to have a little help from some florist wire to hold some of the ornaments and maintain my shape. I’m not ashamed, though. Everyone needs a little help now and again! Oh and check out this pretty ribbon that’s being wrapped around me!

Oh glorious day! Check out how I sparkle and shine! I’m the best Christmas tree ever! I know I am because the little boy keeps saying so!

And check me out at night. This is my favorite time. I think I look best in the dark! I sure hope my little boy is on the nice list so I can get lots of gifts placed under me on Christmas Eve! Until then I’ll shine, shine, shine!

Um, sorry. I couldn’t resist. Did I mention I am on drugs for my knee and back? Giggle! Hubby and I thought this was an eye sore of a tree but our little bundle of energy wouldn’t have any other one. I couldn’t resist letting him get the one he wanted. We do it all for him anyway. PLUS I think it turned out to be a pretty great tree after all! The kid’s got style!

It turned out so beautifully . . . just goes to show that it doesn’t take a perfect tree to make a perfect tree. :)

I think it looks great, and I LOVE the twist with the tree “writing” the post. Cute! :)
