Remember this picture? Yes that is me in Walmart performing my gymnast stunts for all of my small town to see. A few weeks ago I accidentally relived a gymnast moment in a local parking lot. The lot was freshly resurfaced. My right foot started sliding down an incline and there was nothing I could do to stop it. As I was going down I thought – this is either going to be really cool or really bad. As it turns out it was actually both. Who would have thought at this weight and age I could still do a full on right split? Pretty cool, eh? I guess the body never forgets.
Or maybe it does. I’ve been giving in to my right knee since that happened and early this week my back decided it was tired of doing extra work. I have been hobbling, rolling, and crawling my way around the house all week. I started a concoction of pain pills, steroids, and muscle relaxers on Wednesday. I still cannot stand up straight and the pain is torture.
Tonight I am doing a presentation for three classes at my church on simply good design. Tomorrow I am participating in an open house. Sunday I am decorating a home for Christmas. If I can survive the next three days, I am home free for the rest of the year! I am clinging to the verse – I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! If you are the praying kind, please whisper a prayer for me.
In other bright news…my dear friend, Bridget, has decided to join the blogging world. with A Home That is Blessed. I am blessed to have her as a friend. She has a beautiful spirit, family, and home. I’m excited that she has decided to share her beauty with the bloggy world.
She is currently doing a series on the Blessings of Christmas. The post about the blessing of warmth is so touching. Please go over and give her a big bloggy welcome when you get a chance. You will blessed, too!
Well that’s about all I have for my Friday hodge podge. I’m linking up with Amanda’s Weekend Bloggy Reading.
Have a blessed weekend, friends!
