No, I haven’t lost my mind. Today we are traveling to the north and west to celebrate Christmas with my family. Yep, this crazy crew will be together again which always makes for loads of fun!
We are always a little slow to get together for our Christmas celebration. It really is nice because we aren’t rushing around trying to juggle several family schedules across three states in the middle of the Christmas rush. An added bonus is the extra time to wrap up shopping and cooking.
This year because we are celebrating on New Year’s Day, we are having the good ol’ southern tradition of black eyed peas, hog jowl, fried taters, and cabbage. All this is for prosperity and luck in the new year (and we need all the help we can get).
What’s your New Year’s tradition?
Happy New Year!

Hog jowl? That sounds like something my granddaddy would have liked!
Have fun with your family. We really don’t have any new year’s traditions. I predict it will be a pretty slow day around here.
