Here’s a quick, easy, and inexpensive gift you can make for teachers, friends, or party favors…
In this particular example, I made the thank you treat for a friend. She loves Dr. Pepper and chocolate. I grabbed some white broad cloth from Hobby Lobby (half a yard for $1), an orange postcard from my card stock stash, leftover ribbon from another project (you could get at Hobby Lobby for $1 a roll). You can make at least two treats out of this amount of material and fabric so you can see how inexpensive this really is.
I secured the candy bar to the Dr. Pepper bottle with a pipe cleaner. When I made this before I just used tape. Just grab what you have on hand!
For this size treat I used about a 20 x 20 inch square of fabric. No need to cut the fabric, just make a little snip and then rip. It will be a straight line and the fraying will add fun to your treat.
Drape the fabric over the bottle and center as best as you can. I bet you can tell where I’m going with this now!
Wrap the ribbon around the neck of the bottle and poof the fabric on top to give your treat a head. Remember – it doesn’t have to be perfect. Tie the ribbon to cinch in place. Stop mussing with the head – it looks fine. Trust me!
Take your card stock and make a cute little tag. Add a fun little note like these above. Punch a hole in the card and thread through the ribbon. Then tie a bow with the ribbon.
Add a couple of eyes with a sharpie, glue on googly eyes or go without! Isn’t this a cute little treat? I love to play on words.
Last year for BBC’s kindergarten teacher, I did Diet Dr. Pepper and chocolate (her favorites) and add a little note that said…
At first we were SCARED to send
Our little MONSTER to school.
Now our FEARS are eased because
Of the BOO-tiful job you are doing!

You could also make these on a smaller scale with little bottles of bubbles for a kid’s party. Or you could do it with a bottle of wine for a Halloween gathering. Really anything in a bottle could be dressed up this way.
