It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Northwest Arkansas. There is just something about that area that speaks to me. I made a recent trek up the old Highway 71 from Alma to Fayetteville. I used to drive this path whenever I needed to reflect or gain clarity of thought. It still does the trick! Here are a few of the things that made my heart skip a beat on this particular day…
First of all there is no denying God’s masterpiece. The Boston Mountains, the trees, the lakes – they speak of His amazing creativity and remind me of His awesome power. Worries can’t help but melt away from this view!
Traveling this road is like taking a step back in time to my childhood. This wall of jams and jellies reminds me of my granny’s home. She had a shelf just like this that lined one wall of her kitchen. It was filled with yummy treats, too. My favorites were the pickled okra and the boysenberry jam. Yummy, happy memories!
As I was walking back to my car, I had to snap this photo. It was a beautiful day at the U of A. This photo sums up how I felt after my journey. Relaxed. Refreshed. Ready for my next test.
What helps you reflect and refocus? This drive does the trick for me every time!

I loved your tour of that area of Arkansas. I have never been there. My favorite drive is the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. That always relaxes and refreshes me. Carla

Wonderful pics! I live in Alma and make the drive to Fayetteville whenever possible. There is nothing like the scenery to calm and encourage!
