This picture was taken at the Big Dam Bridge in Little Rock, AR a few years back and makes me chuckle to this day. BBC has a very thick southern drawl and for some reason he decided to add ol’ to the name of the bridge. For example, “Momma, when are we going back to that Big ol’ Dam Bridge?” This got me into trouble with a sweet little old lady. I knew when she flashed that side-eye look plus sigh our way upon mention of the Big ol’ Dam Bridge from my 4 year old’s mouth that she was none-too-pleased with my parental guidance in the colorful language department.
Which brings me to my next point, does the person responsible for naming this bridge understand the challenge it presents to parents of young children? It took quite a while to help BBC understand why we shouldn’t refer to every bridge as a damn big one.

I giggle at this b/c I live near a HUGE lake which has a dam. The road going over this lake/dam is called Buford Dam Rd. There’s even a store on the road called The Dam Store. My kid yells at me every time I say any curse words so I have to not mention the store around him.
