This is a portion of the project I did for BBC’s teacher. She loves to fish and hunt so I knew I wanted to play to that theme somehow. My first thought was the cute cardboard deer trophy’s that are making their rounds on Pinterest this year. I wanted to be more crafty than that.
I envisioned this adorable wreath from the Matt & Becky blog with varying sized fishing bobbers instead. This post has a full tutorial for making a Christmas ornament wreath. However, I planned a different approach for my wreath.
Instead of the styrofoam wreath I decided to start with a wire wreath form.
I wrapped the wire form with ribbon and secured every so often with a touch of hot glue.
If you plan to hang with a ribbon as I did, go ahead and add that to the form before attaching any bobbers. Using my glue gun on low heat setting, I started with the largest sizes of bobbers and placed the evenly around the wreath form.
After I had a good base start I started working the puzzle using the other sizes of bobbers until I was happy with the results.
After I figured out how I wanted to do the project it took less than an hour to complete and maybe $25 using some supplies on hand like hot glue and ribbon.
His teacher seemed very excited with the final results. I used the wreath to decorate her classroom door for the holidays (post coming soon). I love that she can use it any time of year, too!

Your son’s teacher is going to love this! One of these would look so cute on my dock.
