Berry Blingy Banister

I had a hard time deciding on what to do with my banister this year. I’ve always used gold. With the door being lime green and red I wanted something that better coordinated with it. I also didn’t want to spend any money. I guess I could have done the big mesh look like on the door because I have plenty of that left over but that seemed like overkill for my eight foot ceilings. So here’s what I came up with.

Start with some lighted greenery garland. I have lots of this on hand that I bought a few years back. It has served me well.

Add some pretty ribbon. That fat red ribbon was definitely a great investment at the end of season last year. I think it was 75% off and I bought two rolls. I had just enough to wrap the greenery. The green ribbon is some that I bought a few years back and I found just enough of it as well! It was meant to be.

Next I added sprigs of red berries here and there.

And a little bling bling. More stuff bought on clearance last year. I had no idea what I was going to do with it then, but I love how I ended up using it to tie in the bright green!

A few rather large ornaments.

And you have my Berry Blingy Banister 2008!

And here’s the big finale!
